Initial Teacher Education
Throughout the West Midlands there are numerous opportunities to engage in a school led Initial Teacher Training programmes, both primary and secondary. Teaching schools throughout the region offer a variety of school led routes into teaching for both career changers and those who have just completed a first degree and wish to pursue a career in teaching. Whilst the majority of programmes are full time and fee funded, a number of salaried places are available for suitable candidates and an increasing number of providers are offering part time routes. All programmes lead to QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with the vast majority offering a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) with Masters Level credits.
Depending on the phase and subject applicants wish to teach there may be tax-free bursaries available.
